Oh, November Time

Hi there!  I have a little break between classes now, which isn't really enough time to work on anything, but might be just the right amount for a post!

NaNo is going pretty well.  I'm at almost 8,000 words right now (although I haven't updated the word count on the sidebar yet).  I would be further along, but a variety of things got in the way of novelling, including my participation in a terrible handbell choir concert and a few long work days.  I plan to catch up soon!  I really enjoy my novel this year, and it's fun to have the kind of creative liberties I've been giving myself.  I can't wait to see where it all goes next.  When I have a little more time, I'll tell you more about the story.

My brother and I rented a couple of movies last night, and I watched Sherlock Holmes for the first time.  I have to admit, I like Robert Downey Jr. better in Iron Man, but this film wasn't bad.

We also got 9, a brainchild of Tim Burton's.  I've been curious about it for a while, but have very little idea as to what it's actually about (something post-apocalyptic about a mad scientist or something...).  I'll have to fill you in once I've seen it to let you know if it's any good!

I'm sure it will prove to be interesting, at any rate.  With Tim Burton, I expect no less.

Lastly, I'm already getting excited for Christmas!  This is what I get for trying to plan out people's presents early.  I've only bought one thing so far, but I have high hopes for all the presents I'm getting for everyone this time around, considering that this year I actually have money.  Now I have the chance to see exactly how thoughtful I am when I have the funds to support it.  I hope not to dissapoint...

*disappoint :P

Congrats on your NaNo word count. Can't wait to hear more!

Sherlock Holmes was fun. I've been wanting to see 9 for ages, so let me know how it is!

I wish i had been able to watch Sherlock Holmes more closely. I plan on watching it again some day, hopefully soon. When I saw it we had a bunch of girls crammed into my room. You know how that goes.

I've seen 9 in movie stores and such before, but it never seemed to catch my eye. I didn't know it was a Tim Burton film, or I probably would have snatched it ages ago.

But speaking of movies, Gina introduced me to The Village. It's a M. Night Shyamalan creation. It was pretty good. Better than i expected it to be based on the first few minutes. I didn't know if you'd seen it before, but if not you may like it.

Heather--I don't know WHY I always want to spell it that way! There are very precious few words in the English language that give me trouble, but you've found one of them.

Kaely--I haven't seen it, and I didn't have any good reason to want to, but maybe now I should check it out!

Sounds like NaNo is still going good! Hopefully you get caught up and all soon. I remember that I definitely liked Sherlock Holmes, but I haven't seen 9. Looks cool though!

I'm already looking forward to Christmas too. I have no idea what to buy for anybody yet, but still. I love the holidays! Why doesn't the world just decide to have Christmas twice a year?

Every time I think about Christmas I groan. This is the one year I can't think of anything to get anyone. I know that's not the real "reason for the season" but it's still freaking me out.

Keep keepin' on, with your bad writerly self.

That's fantastic!

I'm struggling a bit, I confess. But revisions are more laborious than the joy of actually creating.

And I'll take Robert Downey Jr any dang way, but you're right Iron Man, a much better fit.
