One of the world's most ridiculous statements:
"There are tons of people who would love to have your problem."
Just think about that for a second.
For one thing, it trivializing the problems of the person it's being said to. For another, who would enjoy a problem of any kind? It's an obviously stupid sentiment.
Here's a counter-quote:
"If every person in the world put their problems in a pile, most would take their own back."
A person might think they'd prefer someone else's issues, but they would end up learning that no one's problems are fun.
Obviously.

I'm with you on this! It also stops people ever having the chance to talk through problems, and maybe have a bit of a 'whinge' which can sometimes be very therapeutic in and of itself.
Maybe it just means we all need to work on being better listeners?
I definitely agree with this! It really annoys me when people say that and try to make the person feel bad about having a problem, you know what I mean? It's like, yeah, I'm aware that this isn't as big a deal as someone dying of AIDs or something, but that doesn't mean it doesn't matter at all. So yeah, I agree.
